What is a CRS Score?
The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) is a points-based system used to score your profile in the Express Entry pool. Points are awarded for age, education, language proficiency, and work experience. The highest-scoring candidates receive Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for permanent residence.
CRS Score Ranges (2026)
- 501+ — Excellent. Very likely to receive an ITA in most draw types.
- 451–500 — Good. Strong chances, particularly in category-based draws.
- 401–450 — Moderate. Consider PNP streams to add up to 600 points.
- Under 400 — Work on improving language scores or gaining Canadian work experience.
Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) Streams
Each Canadian province has its own PNP with streams tailored to labour market needs. A provincial nomination adds 600 points to your CRS score, virtually guaranteeing an ITA.
