Key Requirements
- Unconditional offer from a UK institution with a Student sponsor licence
- Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) reference number from your institution
- English language proficiency (usually IELTS Academic)
- Sufficient financial funds for tuition and living costs
Financial Requirements
- Tuition fees: must show funds to cover your first year (or full course if under 9 months)
- Living costs in London: £1,334/month for up to 9 months
- Living costs outside London: £1,023/month for up to 9 months
- Funds must have been held for 28 consecutive days, ending no earlier than 31 days before application
Application Process
- Accept your university offer and receive your CAS number
- Apply online through the UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) website
- Pay the application fee (£490) and Immigration Health Surcharge (£776/year)
- Book and attend a biometric appointment
- Wait for a decision — typically 3 weeks
